PROTOTYPE // NEW CONSTRUCTION

Acceso Haiti, Moringa

Location: Multiple

Client: Adaptiv

Status: Complete

Acceso, a social business builder that brings entrepreneurial solutions to global poverty, is developing a moringa plant processing facility. LeapStep is working with Adaptiv on behalf of the Acceso Organization to create a prototype Moringa Transformation Facility with the first build planned for Anse-a-Veau, Haiti. The facility will process moringa leaves, seeds, lime, and mango products for local consumption and international export. The project’s intent is to achieve capacity building in local communities and improve the livelihood of smallholder farmers and producers.

The prototype was informed by passive strategies that leverage the natural assets which exist on any site; resulting in a sustainable and resilient design response. The design is optimized for natural daylighting, the generation of on-site renewable energy via a rooftop solar power system, and a rainwater catchment system.
