Hudson Valley Farm Hub Maintenance Shop

The team celebrated a recent milestone of the achievement of LEED Certification for the Shop. The 27,000 square foot facility was designed to be near net-zero and utilizes an array of passive strategies and alternative systems including ground-source heat pumps (geothermal), radiant heating and photovoltaics among others. The Hudson Valley Farm Hub is a non-profit organization focusing on promoting resilient agriculture throughout the region and beyond. Located on 1,500 acres of prime farmland in Hurley, NY, the organization provides farmer training, hosts and supports agricultural research, demonstrates new farm technologies, and serves as an educational resource for advances in food and farming.

The intent is to demonstrate the viability of ecologically sensitive design through the integration of measures that can be replicated on other projects across the region. LeapStep is serving as engineers of record and providing project management, mechanical design, sustainability and LEED certification consulting on behalf of the team led by MASS Design Group.
